We have adopted Teaching Strategies GOLDĀ® database, a seamless system for assessing children. The State is considering this database for use in all preschool programs to promote interoperability between our Head Start Program and those of State Preschool and Kindergarten through 3rd Grade. We also promote professional development by collaborating with institutions of higher education such as Florence Darlington Technical College, Horry Georgetown Technical College, Williamsburg Technical College, Coastal Carolina University and South Carolina State University. Our Centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). WEOC, Inc. Head Start/Early Head Start coordinates with Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg School Districts to promote continuity of services and effective transition of Head Start children into the school system. Head Start students performed well on Standardized Tests in Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg counties.
