Our comprehensive programs address health, nutrition, social, and family needs in addition to education and cognitive development. A family needs assessment helps us tailor to the needs of each child and their families. Raleigh County Head Start emphasizes the role of parents as their child’s first and most important teacher. The Head Start programs build relationships with families that support: Family Well-Being and Positive Parent-Child Relationships; Families as Learners and Lifelong Educators; Family Engagement in Transitions; Family Connections to Peers and Community; Families as advocates and Leaders. Our Family Services department works with the child's family to address any areas of interest to parents or guardians. Raleigh County Head Start services are designed to be responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage. |
