Early Head Start promotes healthy prenatal outcomes, enhances the development of infants and toddlers (from birth to three years of age) and supports family well-being. The program was initiated in 1995 in recognition of the mounting evidence that the earliest years matter most to children's growth and development. Serving children from three to five years old and their families, the Children First Head Start program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. Our team of highly qualified teachers and dedicated volunteers help young students to gain the cognitive, social and emotional skills needed to succeed in Kindergarten and beyond. Parental involvement is an important part of the program too, as we know that families are more successful when parents are engaged in their children’s education.
