Head Start is a comprehensive, family-focused program that prepars children both academically and socially for a smooth transition into kindergarten supported by federal and state funds. Head Start offers children ages 3-5 years with the following services: 4 ½ or 5 hour instructional day; Extended hours available for working families; Qualified teaching staff; Staff certified in Infant and Child First Aid; Individualized learning activities; Educational screenings; Health screenings and follow up; Parent workshops and support services; Breakfast and lunch provided; Registered nurse on duty; Enroll children with disabilities; A smooth transition form pre-kindergarten to kindergarten; Use a curriculum that will help your child grow academically and socially; Small class sizes.
