Head Start is a federally-funded community-based program for low-income families with preschool-age children (ages 3 to 5). Head Start is focused on making sure children are school-ready by engaging them in activities that promote social-emotional, physical, cognitive and educational development. In addition, Head Start offers family case management, disability services and support, connection to mental health services for children and families, and health screenings for children. Your child will receive a healthy meal and/or snack during the day. As a parent, you are your child’s first and most important teacher.
