It is the mission of Collier County Head Start Program to provide high quality services for families and children to increase school readiness and family self-sufficiency. Head Start is a federally funded, high-quality early childhood program that serves children under the age of five. Services are also offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. The goal of Head Start is to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. Children who are enrolled in Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. Head Start recognizes that parents are their child’s first and most important teachers. Parents are encouraged to be involved in Head Start activities and to serve on committees. Staff work with parents as partners to guide them as they become active participants in their child’s education.
