Details: The Early Head Start program is a federally funded, comprehensive, individualized services school readiness program serving children birth to three years old from income eligible families. The Early Head Start program involves parents and the community in four key component areas: Education/School Readiness, Family Services, Health, Parent Involvement. Additionally, 10% of Early Head Start’s enrollment is reserved for children professionally diagnosed as disabled, who receive comprehensive services to meet their special needs. The Early Head Start Full-Day/Full-Year program will specifically target parents who are K-TAP recipients, working, in job training or attending school who need full-day/year round care for their children. It is recommended that parents apply for the child care subsidy program.

Details: The Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative Head Start/Early Head Start Program serves 363 preschool children and 85 infants, toddlers and prenatal women in a predominantly rural eight county area adjoining the urban sprawl of Louisville and Jefferson County, Kentucky on the Ohio River in Northern Central Kentucky. A variety of program options including full day/full year center based programs, school day school year center-based programs and home-based Early Head Start programs are available to meet the specific needs of the population served as determined by the annual Community Needs Assessment.
