Preschool Details: Shenandoah Valley Head Start/Early Head Start programs' mission is to provide a quality preschool program that forms partnerships among families, school sites, and the served communities. The program emphasizes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development that is age appropriate for children. Using comprehensive school readiness goals and the Parent, Family & Community Engagement Framework, the program prepares children for success throughout their school years. Our goal is to encourage lifelong learning while empowering families to reach their full potential through parent engagement opportunities with their children.
Eligible Requirements: A family that is below the the Federal Poverty Guidelines is "income eligible".
Age Requirements: 3 to 5 years old
How to Apply: Get an application from the Shenandoah Valley Head Start office (you can call or email a request), or any elementary school in the divisions served. Mail it or drop it off at the office. A Head Start staff member will contact you to set up an appointment to review your application and proof of income. You need to provide evidence of all wages that support your family. This can be a W2, income tax form, letter from your employer,recent pay stub, TANF award letters, Supplemental Security Income award letters, or foster care documents.
