Preschool Details: We are at the Old Scarbro Elementary School. There are 3 Head Start classrooms with a maximum enrollment of 18 children for each classroom. Each classroom is staffed by a Teacher and a Teacher Aide. We also offer 2 Early Head Start classrooms at Scarbro Center. Each classroom has a maximum of 8 children per class and is staffed with 2 Teachers. Transportation for children is provided for those living within the enrollment area of this Center. Our buses meet all DOT regulations and each Bus Driver is certified. Meals are provided by a licensed cook at the site to make delicious Breakfasts and Lunches for the children to enjoy. A wonderful fenced playground with many safe and fun age-specific toys is provided for great supervised outdoor activities. The Scarbro Center also houses a Board of Education Pre-K classroom. Those not familiar with Scarbro can find us by going to the Scarbro intersection and turning to go in front of the Old Company Store. Turn to the left up the hill to the school and park in front of the school. Parents are welcome to visit and participate in learning activities with their children and the public is invited to enroll as volunteers to help in the classrooms.

How to Apply: Complete the application. Once you’ve completed the application, you can mail or bring it to: Fayette County Child Development, 102 Hunter St., Oak Hill, WV 25901. At the time of enrollment you will need to provide the following information: Official birth certificate from the Vital Registration Office (from the state where child was born); Complete immunization records; Verification of social security number; Verification of Well Child/Preventive Heath Exam; Proof of dental exam; Proof of residency (e.g. utility bill, lease agreement, tax statement; Proof of income (last year’s W-2, SSI, SNAP, pay stubs)
