Preschool Details: Head Start programs promote comprehensive early childhood education, health,nutrition, and family well-being services to low-income children and their families. Head Start provides services to children ages 3-5 and their families and Early Head Start provides services to pregnant mothers, infants, toddlers, and their families. Save the Children’s expertise, when partnered with local families, agencies, and staff, creates a model that significantly benefits children and communities. Save the Children provides comprehensive, high quality early childhood education and family support services. In addition, we focus on early language development and literacy, as well as health, including nutrition and obesity prevention, and family literacy and education. Save the Children has long believed that knowledge, education and the development of community capacity have the longest impact on the well-being of children. We bring our commitment and experience working with low resource rural communities and our considerable staff expertise in the areas of early education, literacy, and health to the Head Start program.
