Preschool Details: Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive child development program serving birth to five year old children from low income families. The goal is to enable the children to achieve social competence, school readiness goals and to assist families’ to achieve self-sufficiency. The children receive educational services, health/nutrition, and social services. The parents are assisted in becoming actively involved in their child’s educational process through parent involvement and literacy services. Head Start is free of charge to eligible families.
