Preschool Details: Head Start is a child development program designed for low-income families, to allow parents to go to work or back to school to receive the skills needed to foster economic independence. Meanwhile, this allows children to receive intervention by enhancing their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. The program focuses on practices essential to child development, family development, community building, and staff development. Early Head Start is a child development program designed for low-income families, to allow parents to go to work or back to school to receive the skills needed to foster economic independence. Meanwhile, this allows children to receive early intervention by enhancing their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Eligible Requirements: Head Start serves three and four year old children. Eligibility is determined according to the Federal Poverty Guidelines. The program is allowed to fill 10% of the enrollment slots with children who exceed the imcome guidelines, after all eligible children have been served. The Early Head Start program serves children ages 0-3 and pregnant moms. Eligibility is determined according to the Federal Poverty Guidelines. The program is allowed to serve 10% of the enrollment with children who exceed the income guidelines after all eligible children have been served.
