Preschool Details: Monroe County Early Head Start began to provide services to families of 40 children from prenatal to three years of age. Two home visitors, two classsroom teachers, and a Nurse to provide services to pregnant moms began making initial visits as the rest of the county schools were setlling back into a non-weather directed schedule.
Age Requirements:
How to Apply: Each family interested in Head Start/Pre-K will be asked to complete a universal application for the program. Although this does not guarantee enrollment, it does begin the process. There are two mandatory requirements, but three actual requirements that must be met before your child can actually attend class. State certified birth certificate; Income verification; Immunizations. When you are actually enrolled into the program, whether it is in a school setting or one of our Head Start sites, you will have thirty (30) days to obtain the above documentation. If you fail to do so, then we will have no choice but to place your child on our waiting list until all necessary requirements are met. If your child was not born in WV, we will need a certified birth certificate from the state in which he/she was born. The same applies with immunizations.
