Preschool Details: Manhasset-Great Neck Head Start Program is a program of the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. The Head Start Program is the Manhasset/ Great Neck E.O.C.'s largest and best known program having served generations of local families for almost 50 years. Early Learning and Child Development guide the focus of the curriculum along with daily classroom activities that help develop the skills children need in becoming successful learners.
Eligible Requirements: Children from income eligible families must be 3 years old by December 1st and live in either Manhasset, Great Neck, Roslyn or Port Washington in order to be considered for enrollment. Eligibility is largely income-based, although we include other eligibility criteria, such as disabilities and services needed by other family members. Families must ear less than 100% of the federal poverty level to qualify. Families that are Homeless as per the Mckinney-Vento Act, receiving TANF funds or Supplemental Security funds automatically qualify for the Head Start program.
