Preschool Details: Head Start is an early childhood development program, started in 1965 to provide comprehensive developmental services for America's low-income, preschool children ages 3 to 5. Giving a boost to children's education and helping strengthen the skills of parents to better nurture and provide for their children, Head Start is making a significant difference in the lives of children and families in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. territories.
Age Requirements: 3 to 5 years old
How to Apply: Documentation Needed to Apply: Proof of Age (i.e. Birth Certificate, Passport, Baptismal Record, etc.); Proof of all Income (i.e. TANF print out, W-2, 1040 Tax Form, Financial Aid, Unemployment, Social Security, SSI, Child Support Documentation, etc.); Two Proofs of Alachua County Address (i.e. Electric or Gas Bill, Cable Bill, Home Phone Bill, Lease, Mortgage Statement, Property Tax, Water Bill); Parent / Guardian Photo Identification; Custody documentation as appropriate. Other Documentation Needed to Complete the Enrollment Process: Child’s Current Immunization Record (Florida School Entry Form); Child’s Current Physical Exam (Florida Form 680); Child’s Medical Insurance Card (optional)
