Preschool Details: Each year, over 475 economically disadvantaged children in Chester County participate in Head Start. Head Start supports families living at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Currently, the CCIU operates nine Head Start centers throughout the county. They are located in Coatesville, Downingtown, Kennett Square, Oxford, Octorara, Phoenixville, West Chester, and Jennersville.
Age Requirements:
How to Apply: Enrollment Application; Emergency Contact Information; Authorization for Release of Health Information; Child Health and Nutrition Assessment; Birth Certificate; Four Consecutive Weekly or Two Consecutive Biweekly Pay Stubs; Proof of Public Assistance Income; Child’s Health Insurance Card; Immunization Records (You can get this with physical exam documentation from your child’s healthcare provider); Physical Form (An exam is required every year while your child is enrolled); Results of a Blood Lead Test (One result is needed while your child is enrolled); Results of a Hemoglobin Test (You can get this from your child’s healthcare provider or WIC); Private Dentist Report (An exam is required every 6 months while your child is enrolled)
