Preschool Details: WAGES Head Start & Early Head Start are quality comprehensive child and family development programs that serve infants and toddlers, preschool children ages three to five and their families. The ultimate goal of WAGES Head Start & Early Head Start is to ensure that children enter kindergarten prepared to succeed and to give parents the tools they need to guarantee their child’s success. The program offers center-based as well as home-based services. All centers are four and five star rated. Three of our centers are nationally accredited by NAEYC. In addition to its focus on early education, WAGES Head Start also provides an array of health, dental, nutritional, and family services. As parental involvement is a strong component of the Head Start philosophy, the program works in partnership with the entire family. As part of its federal mandate, WAGES Head Start/Early Head Start is required to serve children with disabilities. A minimum of 10% of children enrolled must be diagnosed with a disability. WAGES proudly serves children with special needs in inclusive, child-centered environments with well trained and nurturing staff. The program prides itself on being a community leader in the local human service arena so that it can be an advocate for children and families and empower families to be advocates for themselves and their children.
Eligible Requirements: Participants should be income eligible based on the poverty guidelines for their household size. The age limits are prenatal to 36 months for Early Head Start and 3-4 years old for Head Start.

How to Apply: In order to submit an online application for WAGES Head Start or Early Head Start programs, you MUST have a valid email address. If you do not have an email address at this time, or if you have submitted an application for a previous program year, please visit one of our centers to complete an application in person or you may print an application, complete and submit to our administrative office located at 601 Royall Ave, Goldsboro NC. Please bring the following items with you: Your child’s birth certificate, Income verification for the past 12 months, verification of child’s special needs (if applicable). Applications may still be taken without these documents. Important Notes: For income verification we can accept W2, tax returns, original pay stubs, letter from employer, or letter from DSS. Limited transportation is provided.
