Preschool Details: Head Start is a federally funded program for preschool children for preschool children, ages 4 and 5, from low income families. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities, receive medical and dental care, and participate in the USDA food program. Services are also offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities
Eligible Requirements: 1. Your child must be four years old before September 30th; and 2. Your family must meet income guidelines; and 3. You must live in a school attendance area served by Head Start, VPI, or VPI+
Age Requirements: 4-5 years old
How to Apply: 1. Completed application forms 2. Income Verification - TANF/SSI payment information; W-2 forms or pay stubs which indicate gross year-to-date earnings; Last year’s tax return (1040); An official letter from your employer stating your monthly earnings; Documentation of child support or spousal support 3. Proof of Residency (lease, rent agreement, deed) and two other forms of ID which provide proof of address (utility bill, car registration, bank statement, etc.) 4. Child’s birth certificate 5. Medical insurance card for your child (Medicaid, FAMIS, Private) 6. Current Immunization record 7. Doctor and Dentist information 8. Physical Exam appointment information 9. Dental Exam appointment information 10. Custody papers/court papers regarding your child (if this applies to your child) 11. SNAP information (if your family receives benefits)
