Preschool Details: Early Head Start (EHS) is a federally funded community-based program for low-income families with infants and toddlers (birth to three-years-old) or expectant families. Its mission is to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women; to enhance the development of very young children; and the promote healthy family functioning. Early Head Start services are provided to children and their families primarily through weekly home visits and bi-monthly group socializations. Referrals may be made for family support services. Early Head Start is currently serving income-eligible families in Belfast, Belmont, Brooks, Frankfort, Freedom, Jackson, Knox, Montville, Morrill, Searsmont, Searsport, Swanville, Thorndike, Troy, Unity, Waldo, and Winterport.

How to Apply: In order to complete the application at your appointment, you will need to make sure you bring the following information: Income verification; Your child’s birth certificate (if still expecting, bring your own birth certificate); Social security cards for all family members; Health insurance information
